Jub Jub set to return to Court as rape and assault case resumes

Rapper and TV presenter Molemo Maarohanye, widely known as Jub Jub, is expected to face legal proceedings today as the case against him resumes at the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court. Maarohanye is confronting charges of rape, attempted murder, and assault.

Earlier this year, Maarohanye voluntarily surrendered himself at the Brixton police station in response to an issued warrant of arrest. In a previous court appearance last month, his defense team sought a postponement, citing the rapper’s scheduled performances during the festive season. However, Magistrate Betty Khumalo dismissed this request.

The charges Maarohanye is facing stem from alleged incidents in 2006 and 2009. Despite the serious nature of the accusations, he has pleaded not guilty to all charges. The court is expected to delve into the details of the case as it reconvenes, and the legal proceedings unfold.
