Wanted suspect arrested in Kameeldrift following multi-disciplinary operation

PRETORIA, November 15, 2023 — In a significant breakthrough, a 38-year-old wanted suspect has been apprehended in Kameeldrift, east of Tshwane, by a multi-disciplinary law enforcement team on charges of murder and attempted murder.

The arrest is linked to a heinous incident that occurred in Atteridgeville on Sunday, November 12, 2023, where two victims fell prey to a violent crime involving the use of a white Toyota Starlet.

Acting on intelligence information, the collaborative effort of the multi-disciplinary team, which included the Tactical Operations Section (TOMS), SAPS MDOC CI CIT team, SAPS Gauteng Tactical Response Team, SAPS Gaubullet, CAP Specialised Operations, Tracker Connect, FRS-Falcon Risk Solutions, and ICB-INSURANCE Crime Bureau, successfully traced the suspect’s vehicle to Kameeldrift.

The tactical containment of the suspect’s vehicle led to the positive identification and subsequent arrest of the wanted individual. Following this crucial apprehension, the team proceeded to conduct a thorough search at the suspect’s residence in Atteridgeville.

During the search, law enforcement discovered and seized two unlicensed firearms with ammunition, an assortment of .45 and 9mm ammunition, as well as several mobile phones. Additionally, the suspect’s vehicle was confiscated for further investigation.

The arrested individual is currently out on bail for multiple crimes, raising concerns about potential links to other violent incidents in the Tshwane area.
