Police in Limpopo have launched a manhunt following the discovery of a woman’s body in the town of Hoedspruit.
Police in Hoedspruit responded to a complaint of a body of a female found lying on the main road. During the investigation, it was established that the deceased had suffered multiple stab wounds.
Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said the woman has not been identified but she is in her thirties, light in complexion with an afro hair.
“She was wearing a brown T-shirt and blue jeans. The body was covered with a duvet. Police have opened a case of murder and the motive of the killing is not yet known,” Malesela.
Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe expressed shock at the brutal murder, adding that such a cold and senseless attack on a person cannot be tolerated.
“We have confidence in the investigation team assigned to the case that they will ensure the perpetrators of this heinous crime are tracked down and brought before justice,” said Hadebe.
